Mickey7 watches everything from a hidden screen in the maintenance room. Nasha is beside him, lips pressed together.

—He doesn’t have to do this, —she whispers.

But he does. He has to.

Mickey8 blinks at Marshall, as if making a decision in real time. And then, he takes a step back.

—I’ll fix this.

Before anyone can stop him, he activates the airlock controls and steps into the void of Niflheim.

The storm swallows him in seconds.

Mickey7 feels something tighten in his chest. It’s like watching his own death.

Because that’s exactly what just happened.

Now, there’s only one.

The error has been corrected.

But something inside Mickey7 twists.

He didn’t die. Not really.

Someone else did it for him.

And that changes everything.
