The Locked Door
The Locked Door —How did this get here?
There is no answer. Only the dull throb of fear. The scar that doesn’t bleed, but oozes anxiety.
Nora begins to document everything. To record herself. To write. She knows that if someone can manipulate the evidence, there must be another way to defend herself. But she also knows she’s being watched. The scent of lavender appears again. And this time, she is not alone in the house.
A door slams. A glass falls. Nora runs to the bathroom. Locks herself in. Trembles. Breathes.
But on the mirror, written in lipstick, a phrase appears:
—You are just like him.
—What does this mean? Who wrote that on my mirror?
Nora wipes the message away with trembling hands. The scent of lavender still floats in the air, as if someone just left. The police find no signs of forced entry. No cameras. No witnesses. Only her word… and a history that is already starting to work against her.
The letters from her father, which she always destroyed without reading, now become her only lead. She searches among the remnants of the ones she didn’t completely tear up. She pieces them back together. And what she finds chills her.
