The Midnight Library
The Midnight Library The lights flicker. The shelves shake. The floor opens beneath her feet.
And then, everything collapses.
Darkness.
When she opens her eyes, she is in nothingness. An absolute void, where the Library no longer exists. No books, no shelves. No Mrs. Elm. No herself.
She is alone.
Completely alone.
And for the first time, she feels the true weight of her decision.
Is this what she really wanted?
The void surrounds her. There is no sound, no light. Only the unbearable weight of nothingness.
Nora tries to move, but she has no body. There is no up or down. No air, no ground. It’s as if she has dissolved into nonexistence.
This is what she wanted, wasn’t it? To stop existing. To step off the board.
But now that she has done it, fear seeps in like a crack in the darkness.
—Is this death?
Her own voice echoes without sound. No one answers.
I’m alone.
