Nexus Modern democracy is based on the idea of informed citizens making rational decisions. However, in the digital age, information has ceased to be a reliable resource and has become a battlefield. Disinformation, data manipulation and fragmentation of the truth have weakened the foundations of democratic systems, putting their survival at risk. Throughout history, control of information has been a tool of power. Kings censored philosophers, religions suppressed heretical texts and totalitarian regimes rewrote history to suit themselves.
