The Wild Robot Protects
The Wild Robot Protects “The tide is already coming! I saw it with my own eyes! It’s on the horizon, and it isn’t stopping!”
Gale’s words ignite a fresh wave of chaos. The murmurs of fear escalate into a clamor, as the animals begin to argue more and more radically. Some insist on fleeing immediately, while others argue that the threat will never reach their homes. Fink, always skeptical, steps forward with a shout.
“Why should I care? I don’t live in the water!”
Swooper responds, his deep, measured voice cutting through the noise.
“Because the air, the land, and the water are all connected. If the ocean falls ill, we will all suffer.”
Roz realizes that if she doesn’t act soon, the chaos could spiral out of control. Taking a deep, steadying breath, she raises her voice above the fray.
“Listen,” she commands. “We will migrate inland, away from the coast. There, we can wait, watch, and see if the tide stops before it reaches us.”
