Su preocupación central apunta a mostrar cómo se nos parece la pornografía, es decir hasta qué punto en realidad no es más que el espejo de lo que ha llegado a ser nuestra modernidad. Pero también muestra que la pornografía actual alude a algunas cuestiones elementales y muy antiguas como el papel social del pudor, el lugar de la masturbación como práctica sexual y el mito de la eterna juventud. La obra es, en resumen, ambiciosa, pero su objetivo simple: llevarnos a reflexionar de un modo nuevo sobre la pornografía.
