Adolfo cayó sentado en el sillón enfrente mismo de la mesa de despacho tras la cual se hallaba su padre. Javier Papinol fumaba un cigarro habano, el cual mordisqueaba nerviosamente.
El sabía perfectamente que su hijo Adolfo era más inteligente que él, más culto y mucho más educado. Pero...
Al fin y al cabo de la nada, él había llegado a algo y su hijo se limitó a hacer una carrera porque se la pagó él. De no tener con que costeársela, seguro que Adolfo jamás llegaría a tener un céntimo, a menos por su iniciativa.
Y él, en cambio, de carpintero llegó a ser un buen ebanista y de ebanista llegó a poseer un fábrica de puertas blindadas que era, a no dudar, el negocio más lucrativo en la época que rodaba actualmente.
Pero una cosa tenía Adolfo, era bueno para los números, mientras que él memorizaba bien, pero los números se le escapaban y un negocio, por bueno que sea, sin administración es igual que un cáncer que va consumiendo a uno sin que uno se de cuenta.
Ese es el problema, pero no se reducía a eso la cosa; lacosa estaba en que, como relaciones públicas, Adolfo era una calamidad, y él se las sabía todas en tal sentido.
